Berdorf is known for its beauty, as it seems to be taken from a fairytale. And because it is the only climbing area in Luxembourg. In the past this relative small climbing area was closed due to the big amount of visitors. Since 2016 it is allowed to climb in this area again. See the chapter permit for more information on the rules.

There are about 180 routes ranging from 3 to 8. Most routes can be found in the 6/7 range. The routes are spread over 15 areas.

Climbing is allowed for members of an 'UIAA or IFSC affiliated climbing or mountaineering association'. In the Netherlands this is the NKBV. You have to follow several rules that have been

Please follow the following rules to keep the area open

  • You have to be able to prove your a member of one of the UIAA or IFSC by bringing you member card and identity papers and show them on request to the persons authorized to control access to the rocks.
  • Groups may consist of a maximum of 6 people.
  • Magnesium may be used in moderation. Tickmarks or other markings are prohibited and handles must be cleaned after climbing.
  • Only climbing activities on the allowed rocks. For example abseiling activities with groups are prohibited.
  • Use of Nuts and Cams are prohibited.
