Hun, Belgium
La dalle du Beaupere is a relative new area that has been opened in 2018. It is a small area with only one sector.
The whole wall is a plate with some cracks in it. A few routes are good to train the specific crag moves. Because it is a small area it is almost ideal to come with friends or even with your children to this place. Ofcource nobody wants to hear crying children but there is enough space to let them play and it is easy to keep an eye on your friends, what is better then see them climb that 6b (or struggle in a 5a).
There are 24 routes where the grades range from 3c (1) up to 6b (1). Most of the routes are in the 5 range (16). The hight differs per route, the lowest is about 5 meters, the highest around 25 meters.
Permits
Most of the climbing areas in Belgium are on private property or in nature reserves. For most of these climbing areas you have to be a member of a climbing association or be invited by a member.
Non-Belgian climbers must be a member of a climbing association that has agreements with the Belgian associations. Please ask your local climbing association. As a Dutchy and member of the NKBV you must have a 'klimjaarkaart' that can be purchased through the NKBV.
