Moha, Belgium
Rocher du Chateau de Moha is a relative new climbing area in Belgium, opened in 2015. With 30 routes in 4 sectors it is relatively small, but on the brigth side, in the summer the sectors are in the shadow. The routes are located directly under 'Chateau féodale de Moha', first mentioned in 1031 and has been not in use since the 17th century. In 1981 the work started to preserve the ruins. When opened you can visit the castle to.
The 30 routes range from 4 to 7b+. As already mentioned all the routes are on the shadow parts so they do not dry quickly. The rocks, especially when wet, can be a bit slippery making the excellent routes just a bit more stressful ;-)
The topo can be found on the information sign at the small parking. But there is also a topo that can be found on the internet. Please always check the sign for the latest information.
Please note:
Permits
Most of the climbing areas in Belgium are on private property or in nature reserves. For many of these climbing areas you have to be a member of a climbing association or be invited by a member.
Non-Belgian climbers must be a member of a climbing association that has agreements with the Belgian associations. Please ask your local climbing association. As a Dutchy and member of the NKBV you must have a 'klimjaarkaart' that can be purchased through the NKBV.
