Rochers de Freyr

Anseremme, Belgium

Area thumbnail Outdoor natural | Lead climbing (sport)

This area is by far the biggest climbing area of Belgium with about 600 routes. With being the biggest it is also one of the most popular areas resulting in worn-out and slippery routes, especially the easy routes can be scary because of this. The view over the river Maas adds to the beauty of this area.

The routes are rated between 4 to 8c+ and have a height up to about 110 meters.

There is a 'bivac' really nearby where you can stay the night over for a small fee. It is nothing more then a few fields of grass and no facilities but a toilet and some water at the cabin that is quite far from the tents. More information in the coordinate of the bivak.

Most of the climbing areas in Belgium are on private property or in nature reserves. For many of these climbing areas you have to be a member of a climbing association or be invited by a member.
Non-Belgian climbers must be a member of a climbing association that has agreements with the Belgian associations. Please ask your local climbing association. As a Dutchy and member of the NKBV you must have a 'klimjaarkaart' that can be purchased through the NKBV.
