Teutoburger Wald (Ibbenbuhren)

Brochterbeck, Germany

Area thumbnail Outdoor natural | Lead climbing (sport) | Top rope

Ibbenburen, Teutoburger Wald or Dorenther Klippen are all different names for the same climbing area. In fact, the Dörenther Klippen are a well known part of the 'Teutoburger Wald'. Teutoburger Wald is a nature park. Due to this expect lots of people walking around on days with good weather. The Dorenther Klippen are quite unexpected if you drive to there with the car. The surroundings are relatively flat. But that doesn't mean it is an easy climbing area.

Teutoburger wald is divided in 5 sectors/area's and not maintained by the same organisation. There are different climbing associations that 'lease' the area of the nature park or private owners. See the permits section for more details about access.
